The day’s breakaway was formed by the Spanish champion Sara Martín, racing on home roads. With about 80km to go, Martín was joined by Federica Venturelli, creating a leading duo at the front of the race. Their advantage stretched past 6' before it began to drop ahead of the final climb to Lagunas de Neila, an ascent that would also decide the final general classification! With just over 20km remaining, Reijnhout and Ryo launched a brief attack, bridging the gap to Venturelli, who had since been dropped by Martín.
As the race reached the final climb, all the breakaway riders were reabsorbed. The peloton thinned out kilometer after kilometer, leaving Yara Kastelijn and Evita Muzic in the lead. Behind them, a chasing group of about 10 riders formed. Nearing the final kilometer, Kastelijn managed to distance Muzic, riding solo toward the stage victory and the overall GC win! Muzic secured second place, but only just, as Usoa Ostolaza attacked from the group behind to distance her rivals and claim third. Mireia Benito and Mischa Bredewold completed the top five.
