Just a day after claiming the European Junior Road Race title, Azzurra Ballan has put pen to paper with AG Insurance-Soudal Devo for the 2027 season, the team announced.
Ballan, daughter of 2008 World Road Race Champion Alessandro Ballan, spent her junior development years riding for the Vicenza-based squad Breganze Millenium, where she built the engine that carried her to the biggest win of her career so far.
RESULT: Azzurra Ballan (ITA) won the European Continental Championships Women Junior Road Race title, soloing clear in the finale to take the win and the jersey.
Ballan's victory came after a decisive late attack that none of her rivals could answer, confirming the promise she had shown throughout the junior ranks this season. Her move to AG Insurance-Soudal Devo for 2027 gives her a direct pathway into one of the sport's most respected development structures, long known for nurturing young riders into WorldTour-ready professionals.
"Ballan is exactly the kind of rider our development project is built for," the team said in announcing the signing, pointing to her tactical maturity and finishing ability as key assets for the step up to the U23 ranks.
With a European title already on her palmares before even turning 18, Ballan arrives at AG Insurance-Soudal Devo as one of the most closely watched prospects in the junior women's peloton.
